Jay Shree Infra is an HMB Ispat dealer in Saharsa and sells its sections across Saharsa, Supaul and Madhepura. HMB Ispat Private Limited is a West Bengal maker with its head office in Kolkata and its plant at Dewandighi in East Burdwan, and HMB Group is how it writes itself. Two of its lines reach this counter: HMB iGrill in plain mild steel and HMB Grill Guard on the galvanised side. Everything loads at one premises on Meera Talkies Road and leaves in our own vehicles.
Both lines have sold here for years, with an even section, straight 20 ft lengths and no complaints coming back. The angle, patti, square and round sit on the structural steel page and the shutter profile and guide on the rolling shutter rack.

What of HMB stands on these two racks
Six HMB sections, four on the fabrication rack that grill and gate work runs on, two on the shutter rack. Not every size is in both lines on a given day; call and we confirm what is standing.
- AngleTwelve sections on HMB's published list, 20x20x3 mm at 0.90 kg per metre up to 50x50x6 mm at 4.50, and the same twelve figures apply to both lines. This is the L a window grill and a gate frame get cut from.
- Flat (Patti)Patti is the one thing on this list where the two HMB lines stop carrying the same sizes all the way up. HMB's published flats run 19x6, 20x5, 21x7 and 25 mm in 5, 6, 9 and 12 thick, then 32x5 and on up. Three 50 mm flats come on the plain side and two narrower sizes only on the galvanised side, so a wide patti wanted already galvanised is a question for the phone.
- Square Bar / Square SectionSolid square bar, published in 8, 10, 12, 16, 20 and 25 mm at 20 ft. These are the bars a grill gets filled in with once the angle frame is up.
- MS Round BarSolid round in 10, 12, 16, 20 and 25 mm: the square list without the 8, at the same 20 ft length. Round goes into gate bars, railings and the odd shaft.
- Shutter Profile (Shutter Patti)HMB makes five shutter families and gives no dimension for any of them, so a lath is matched at the counter against what is on the floor. Bring a piece of the old curtain if one is coming down.
- Shutter Guide (Guide Channel)HMB's 20x10x2 mm and 20x10x3 mm gate channel sections, at 0.82 and 0.86 kg per metre, are what we sell as shutter guide. HMB calls them gate channel. The fit gets checked against your doorway before anything is cut.
HMB rolls a good deal more than those six: MS pipes, GP sheets, a roofing sheet it calls HMB Chhat, a zinc spray, and further back stainless steel, ferro alloys, billets and casting units. None of that comes to Saharsa under the HMB name; our pipe rack and our roofing rack carry other makers. HMB also rolls one Z angle, 20x20x22x3 mm, so ask for that by name and we will say what can be arranged.
Two names, two finishes
iGrill, Grill Guard, and the word Sul
HMB's two lines are HMB iGrill, the plain mild steel one, and HMB Grill Guard, the galvanised one. At this counter the galvanised line also goes by Grill Guard Sul, and the plain one is written I-GRILL as often as iGrill. If a slip or a bill in front of you carries either of those, read the whole line out on the call and we will match it to the section.
Ask for the plain one or the galvanised one and the spelling stops mattering, because what decides the order is the section and the finish. For a grill or gate frame that stays under a roof, plain iGrill is the usual pick; for a boundary gate or a railing that stands out in the rain, take Grill Guard.
Square and round
Square and round, and where the sum lands
Square is solid bar in 8, 10, 12, 16, 20 and 25 mm; round is that list without the 8. Both come in both lines, both at 20 ft, and the weight against a size is the same whether the piece is plain or galvanised.
A fabricator can check most of those figures on the back of a slip. Side times side times 0.00785 gives kilograms per metre for a square, and diameter squared over 162 gives it for a round. All five of HMB's round figures land on that second sum to the decimals it publishes, 10 mm at 0.617 kg per metre and 25 mm at 3.86. The one that does not land is the 25 mm square, where HMB gives 4.810 against a sum of 4.906, and on a bar bought under a maker's name the maker's own figure is what a bill should follow. That 162 is the same number the sariya weight chart is built on, worked out there in full.

Ajay Kumar Bageria buys HMB himself
Jay Shree Infra's buying from HMB Ispat is done by Ajay Kumar Bageria himself, 35 years in the Saharsa iron and steel trade. The rolling shutter photograph on our home page is HMB's own, used with its permission, and the credits page says so.
Shop, office and loading point are one address on Meera Talkies Road. What a fabricator actually rings about is whether the section he wants is standing in the plain line or the galvanised one this morning, and that takes the time it takes to walk to the rack.

Grill Guard par zinc coating kitni hoti hai?
HMB gives no coating weight for Grill Guard: no gsm and no micron figure against any section, and no IS number beside it. If a job has been specified with a coating class, say so at the start of the call and we will tell you what the material in front of us can be shown to carry.
HMB ka square aur round kaun kaun se size me aata hai?
Square in 8, 10, 12, 16, 20 and 25 mm, round in that same list without the 8, both at 20 ft and both alike for the plain line and the galvanised one. What is standing in either of them this morning is a separate question, answered on the phone.
Shutter ka guide channel HMB me milega?
Yes. HMB rolls those sections as gate channel, at 20x10x2 mm and 20x10x3 mm, in both its lines, and they sit on our shutter rack because that is the job they do here. Bring the opening measurement, or the old guide where one is coming down, since the fit is settled against the doorway and never off the section name.
HMB ka 20 ft ka section gaon tak kaise pahunchta hai?
In our own vehicles, tempo up to truck, to all 34 blocks of the three districts. Twenty feet is the number to mention when you ring, because a full length turns down a narrow lane long before weight comes into it. Say the village and what the last stretch of road is like, and say whether the pieces can be cut here before they load. Carriage on that route is charged at the market rate.
