Shutter patti is the lath a rolling shutter curtain is built out of: thin steel run through rolls into a section, then hooked lath into lath until the curtain covers the doorway. Jay Shree Infra keeps it at the Saharsa godown in plain, barfi, round and flat design, in MS black and in galvanised GI, carrying the Solar label or HMB's. A bazaar shop front, a grain godown door, a factory entrance and a garage all close on the same lath in different quantities.

Nothing on this rack carries a stock length. Patti is cut to the width a doorway actually measures, so an order starts at an opening and never at a shelf size. The guide channel and the spring that finish the job sit beside it on the rolling shutter rack, and workshops in Saharsa, Supaul and Madhepura take all three off one bill.

Sizes

Why no size table stands against this section

Patti is roll formed, so the face width and the depth of the section belong to whoever owned the rolls, and no published chart covers them. HMB's own rolling shutter page names what it makes, mild steel, galvanised, perforated, motorised and aluminium shutters, with no dimensions given beside them. No standard number has been published against a finished lath by anybody we can cite either. A width lifted off a market table would be a number for somebody else's rolls, so we measure instead.

Say the design, the material and roughly how heavy a lath the job wants, and we will hold that against what is on the floor. MS black is the cold rolled kind and GI is the galvanised, the same two words that separate CR sheet from GP sheet one rack over.

Kis kaam me lagta hai

Shop shutters, godown and warehouse shutters, factory doorways and garage shutters. The buyer is almost always a fabrication workshop and not the man who will stand under it, because a curtain has to be rolled, welded, fitted into its guides and loaded onto a spring before anybody can pull it down. Thekedars and project companies order the same way, by the opening and by the shutter.

One doorway swallows more than the lath. It takes a guide down each side, a shaft with its bearings, the spring, a lock, fasteners, and paint or powder coating if the patti went out black. Say on the call which of those you want lifted as well, so one vehicle does the trip.

  • Patti here means two different things

Ask for patti at this counter and somebody will ask you which one. Flat patti is the flat bar on the fabrication rack, solid steel, the strip a grille or a gate is welded up from. Shutter patti is the other one: thin sheet folded into a section, shaped to bend as it rolls. A workshop never mixes the two. A first time buyer on the phone sometimes does, so say shutter patti, or say the doorway, and the question never comes up.

  • Plain, barfi, round and flat

Four designs, and what separates them is the shape rolled into the face of the lath. Barfi is the diamond, and we read the four names off the rack, because no chart is published against a finished lath. A curtain runs one design from top to bottom, because every lath has to hook into the one above it. So the design is settled before the first foot is cut, and an addition to a hanging shutter has to match what is already up there.

  • Black patti, or galvanised

MS black leaves here bare and the workshop paints or powder coats the curtain once it is welded up, so the finish is a step in their work and a line in their bill. GI arrives galvanised, and nothing is owed at the end. HMB runs both and gives them separate names, iGrill for the mild steel sections and Grill Guard for the galvanised, and publishes both. Which one a doorway wants usually follows where it stands and what the workshop is already set up to finish.

  • Why two estimates for one shutter do not compare

What a running foot of patti weighs comes off three things at once: how wide the flat strip was before it went through the rolls, how thick it was, and how much of that width the profile folds away. Change the design and the third one changes with it. Two laths that show the same face across the front need not carry the same steel per foot.

Patti sells by weight, by running length, by the piece and by the bundle, and one doorway reads as four different looking figures across them. Fix the basis first, then take every estimate in the same design and on the same one. Ring +91 6202 967 218 with the design and the material and we will quote on whichever of the four you mean to buy on.

Questions

Shutter patti ke sawal

Barfi patti aur plain patti me kya farak hai?

The shape rolled into the face of the lath, and nothing about how it is bought. Barfi is the diamond, plain is flat faced, round is the ribbed one. Which designs are standing in which material that day is a call.

Purani patti se match karana hai, kya lekar aayein?

A piece of the old lath, or the old bill where a piece cannot be spared. Roll formed sections do not match by name, so a design word over the phone is never enough to promise a fit. Hold the offcut against what is on the floor and the answer comes in a minute at the counter.

Ek shutter me kitni patti lagegi?

Two numbers give it. The clear width of the opening is the length of every lath, and the clear height decides how many laths. That second number comes off the section itself, because how much of each lath stays showing once it is hooked into the next belongs to that profile. So the count is worked with the lath in hand, never off a square foot rule.

Order dene se pehle kya kya naapna hoga?

The clear width and the clear height of the opening, and how many shutters. Then the design, MS black or GI, and any thickness the workshop has asked for. Say the village as well, because the approach road decides the vehicle. Guide, spring, shaft, lock and fasteners can go on the same trip if you say so on the same call.

An offcut says in one look what words take a call to fix

Nothing on this rack has a stock length, so nothing on it can be quoted off a shelf size. Where an old lath is coming down, bring an offcut of it or a photograph of its cut end: one look gives the design, the material and the thickness together, and a roll formed section matches by measurement and never by a design word said over a phone. Where nothing is hanging yet, the workshop's drawing carries all three.
