Jay Shree Infra is a Jindal dealer in Saharsa and supplies Jindal roofing sheet across Saharsa, Supaul and Madhepura. In this bazaar the word covers two things, plain galvanised chadra and painted colour chadra, and both of them load at one premises on Meera Talkies Road and leave on our own vehicles. The sheet comes from Jindal India, the coated steel maker of the B.C. Jindal Group, working since 1952 out of two works in Howrah district in West Bengal, at Jangalpur and Ranihati.
Several unrelated steel companies in India trade under the Jindal surname, so the mill behind a sheet is read off the coil marking, and we read it out to you before the order is fixed. The purlins, ridge and screws that go up with the sheet are on the roofing and shed page.
What we hold
Two sheets carry this name here
Jindal at this counter means roofing sheet, once plain and once painted, and nothing else.
- GC Sheet (Tina Chadra)Plain galvanised corrugated chadra, the sheet Jindal India sells as Jindal India Galvanised Sheets. We keep it in 0.30 and 0.45 mm and in lengths from 6 ft to 22 ft, for godowns, cattle sheds and house roofs. Which of those lengths is cut and ready changes week to week, so call before the tempo is loaded.
- Colour-Coated Roofing Sheet (Colour Chadra)Painted profiled sheet for sheds, workshops and side cladding, and the line names in the band below all belong to it. We keep 0.35, 0.45 and 0.47 mm. Ask whether a quoted thickness is the bare steel or the painted total, and fix the shade off the colour card.
Jindal India makes a good deal more than roofing sheet. Its range runs to ERW round pipe, API pipe, square and rectangular hollow sections in sizes from 20x20 up to 200x150 mm and thicknesses of 1 to 12 mm, made to IS 4923 in grades YST 210 through YST 355, plus metal beam crash barriers and aluminium foil. We stock Jindal in the two sheets above, and the pipe on our rack carries other names. Where a drawing calls for a Jindal section, name it on the phone and you will get a straight yes or no on whether it can be got.
Lines
Five names Jindal makes, one word in the bazaar
Jindal India sells its coated steel as NEUCOLOR+, Sabrang, Rangeen, Jindalume and Jindal India Galvanised Sheets. Three of those five are painted lines, one is aluminium zinc coated, which Jindal writes as Al-Zn, and the last is the plain galvanised sheet. Two sheets can carry one word and come off two different lines, so anyone putting two quotes side by side should ask which line each one is.
What sits under the paint decides which standard a painted sheet answers to, zinc or an aluminium zinc alloy, and the two entries in the quality control order that reach them are worked out on the colour chadra page. So the questions worth asking on a Jindal sheet are what the coil marking reads and what the mill's certificate names, and we will read both out before an order is fixed. Sheet with no paint on it at all is tina chadra.
Colour
Match a shade by its number
Jindal India prints an RAL number beside most of the shades on its own colour list. Pepsi Blue is RAL 5005 and Sky Blue is RAL 5012. Pencil Grey is 7015 and Graphite Grey is 7024. Leaf Green is 6002, Caulfield Green 6028, Mist Green 6011 and Turquoise Green 6016. Chocolate Brown is 8017, Golden Yellow 1004, Orange 2009, Black 9005, Signal White 9003 and Off White 9002. Three shades on that list carry no number at all: Seco Red, Brick Red and Environmental Green.
Choosing a shade and matching one are two different jobs. A shed already standing has a colour on it, and neela and hara each cover half a dozen of the numbers above, so two blues off two coil lines will sit together on one roof and be seen from the road. Bring the number off the old bill, or a cut piece of the old sheet, and say which face is being covered.

Questions
Jindal ke sawal
Jindal ke naam par authorized dealer ka kagaz rakha hai?
Jindal sheet reaches this yard on a purchase of ours, leaves on an invoice with our name on it, and travels on vehicles we run. Stockist is the honest word for that. The mark rolled along the sheet is where the maker's own proof sits.
Jindal to kai companiyon ka naam hai, aapki chadra kis wali hai?
Jindal India, the coated steel maker of the B.C. Jindal Group, with its works in Howrah. Several unrelated companies trade under the surname, so on any sheet the coil marking is what names the mill, and we read it out to you before the order is fixed. What is stamped on the sheet is what goes on the bill.
Purani chhat se rang milana hai, kaise pata karein?
By its number, off the RAL codes Jindal India prints on its own colour list. A shade name on its own will not fix which grey or which green you mean. Bring the number off the old bill, or a cut piece of the old sheet, and we will tell you what is in against it.
Jindal ki chadra kitne feet tak milti hai?
6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 18, 20 and 22 ft, and anything between or past those is cut here to your measurement. Which of them is standing under this brand today is a question for the call.
Lambi chadra kis gaadi se bhejte hain?
Ours, from a tempo through a tractor up to a truck, across the three districts and all 34 blocks in them. The longest sheet in the load picks the vehicle before the tonnage does, because 22 ft has to ride flat and still turn into the village. Tell us the village and the longest length when you ring, and freight goes at market rates.

Read us the marking and the number
If a sheet is in front of you, read out what is stamped along it and what the old bill says. If the order is fresh, the RAL number off the card fixes the shade, and the length and the count fix the rest. Say the village and the longest sheet, and it goes on the right vehicle. A roof seldom travels alone: the purlins under the sheet and the sariya for the columns can go on the same trip.
