Jay Shree Infra is a Tata Steel dealer in Saharsa, supplying Tata chadra, flat sheet and pipe across Saharsa, Supaul and Madhepura. Tata Steel Limited is the company, and what it sells at retail carries a brand of its own on top of the Tata name: Tata Shaktee for GC chadra, Tata Kosh for GP sheet, Tata Steelium for CR sheet, Tata Astrum for HR sheet, Tata Pipes for round pipe and Tata Structura for square and rectangular sections. All of it is billed by us and loads from one premises on Meera Talkies Road.
Say the material first, then the size, and the Tata name usually follows from those two. Not every size is in every brand on a given day, so call and we confirm what is standing, and today's rate with it. The flat sheet sits on the steel sheets page, the chadra on the roofing and shed page, and the pipe on the MS and GI pipes page.
Under the Tata label
What we keep under the Tata name
Chadra, sheet and pipe. Say the material and the size, and we bill it under the Tata brand it carries.
- GC Sheet (Tina Chadra)Tata publishes its galvanised corrugated chadra as Tata Shaktee, in Standard, Wide and Wider. It gives Wide 13 corrugations at a 910 mm width and Wider 15 corrugations at 1220 mm, and states that the sheets are ISI certified under the Bureau of Indian Standards. Fix the width first: it decides how many sheets a roof takes.
- MS PipeBlack pipe. Tata Pipes publishes 15 NB to 150 NB in the light, medium and heavy classes of IS 1239, and names IS 3589 for the larger ERW sizes. Square and rectangular sections come under a different Tata name, Tata Structura.
- GI PipeGalvanised pipe off the same Tata Pipes range, published to IS 1239 with a minimum zinc coating of 360 GSM. Tell us the bore, the class, and how the ends have to come, threaded and socketed or plain.
- HR SheetHot rolled sheet, black off the mill. Tata's own name for it here is Tata Astrum, published for automotive, agriculture, railway and general fabrication work. Read the thickness and the width off the drawing and we will say what is standing.
- GP SheetPlain galvanised sheet. Tata's GP sheet here is Tata Kosh, the name trunk, box and almirah fabricators ask for. Tata also publishes a premium, zero spangle GP line, Galvano. Ask for GP by thickness and by coating mass together; one of those two numbers on its own does not describe a sheet.
- CR SheetCold rolled sheet. The Tata name over this one is Tata Steelium, listed for panels and general engineering work. CR sheet reaches this counter under more than one maker, so give us the grade and the thickness the fabricator wrote down.
- Fibre SheetDaylight and roofing sheet for sheds, factories and godowns, going up on the same frame as the Tata chadra. Tata Steel sells no fibre sheet under its own name, so ask for it by type, profile and length and we tell you whose it is.
Sariya, angle, flat and plate are not under this label. Tata's sariya comes as Tata Tiscon, and our angle, flat and plate come from other makers. If a bill in your hand reads Tata against an angle, ask what the angle actually is before it goes on the vehicle.
Two kinds of pipe
Round pipe and square pipe are two Tata names
At this counter both are called pipe. Tata publishes them apart. The round one is Tata Pipes, made to IS 1239 in the light, medium and heavy classes, from 15 NB up to 150 NB. The square and rectangular hollow sections are Tata Structura, and its retail page gives square sections from 20x20 mm up to 150x150 mm with walls of 1.2 mm to 5 mm in the Yst 210 category.
A one inch round pipe and a 50x50 section are two different orders. Both are on the MS pipe page, with the class letters and the marking explained, and the galvanised half of the rack sits beside it on the pipes page.
Reading the steel
What Tata prints on the material itself
Tata Pipes publishes that every pipe is hot stamped with its logo, and that the bore, the class, the length and the zinc coating go onto the pipe with a dot matrix printer. Four things you can read off the steel before it is cut. On the chadra side Tata says the Shaktee sheets are ISI certified, and what an ISI mark on galvanised chadra actually covers is set out on the GC sheet page.
The other Tata names
Tiscon and Durashine are separate Tata names
Sariya is not under this label. Tata's reinforcement brand is Tiscon, it is billed here as Tiscon, and it is written up on the Tata Tiscon page. Bar weight per metre is arithmetic and no brand changes it, and that working is shown under the table in the sariya weight chart.
Colour coated roofing is the second one. Durashine is published by Tata Steel Colors Private Limited, a different company from Tata Steel Limited, and it has its own page: Tata Durashine. Two companies and one word between them, so on a warranty question the name that counts is the one printed on the sheet in front of you.
A shed frame in pipe with the roof over it in chadra is two Tata names on one bill and one trip. Say both on the same call and they get loaded in the right order.

Questions
Tata ke naam par sawal
Har Tata product ke liye authorized dealer alag hota hai kya?
Tata material stands on this rack because this shop bought it, and it leaves on this shop's bill in this shop's vehicle. Ask for the material, chadra, sheet or pipe, and the size, and it is billed under the Tata name it carries.
Bill par sirf Tata likha ho to kaun sa maal samajhein?
Not enough on its own, so read the rest of the line. Tata sells chadra as Tata Shaktee, GP sheet as Tata Kosh, CR sheet as Tata Steelium, HR sheet as Tata Astrum, round pipe as Tata Pipes and hollow sections as Tata Structura. The material, the size and the thickness on that same bill are what tell you which of them it was.
Wide aur Wider, Tata Shaktee ke dono size milte hain?
Tata publishes both: Wide at 13 corrugations and a 910 mm width, Wider at 15 corrugations and 1220 mm, with a Standard profile under the two. Which of them is standing on the day you ring, call and we confirm. Measure the roof before you pick, because the cover width sets the sheet count.
Tata ka pipe asli hai, ye kaise pehchanein?
Look at the pipe. Tata Pipes publishes that each of its pipes is hot stamped with the Tata Pipes logo, and that the bore, the class, the length and the zinc coating are printed along it with a dot matrix printer. Its galvanised range is published to IS 1239 at a minimum coating of 360 GSM. If the pipe and the bill disagree, bring both.
Chadra aur pipe dono ek hi gaadi me aa jayenge?
Yes. Pipe and chadra load on the same vehicle. Our own vehicles go to all 34 blocks of Saharsa, Supaul and Madhepura, tempo up to truck by the weight and the approach. Long chadra is the awkward part of that load, so name the village and say what the last stretch of road is like. Freight runs at market rates.
