Waterproofing liquid is the compound stirred into the mixing water so that the concrete or plaster made with it takes in less water afterwards. Jay Shree Infra keeps it at the Saharsa godown under one name, Dr. Fixit, on the shelf with the tar and the cover blocks, and it goes out to Saharsa, Supaul and Madhepura on the vehicle the cement is already filling.
Waterproof liquid is one phrase at this counter, and the products under it do different work. The Dr. Fixit range has three separate families, and the call settles which one a job needs before it settles a pack. The rest of this shelf is on the hardware and accessories page.
Packs
One material, one name, no fixed pack size
It is an integral waterproofing liquid, Dr. Fixit is the name on it, and it sells by the litre and by the pack. Pack size is supplier and region specific, so what is standing on the shelf changes.
What Pidilite publishes about the packing is on the Dr. Fixit dealer page. Which pack has come in is the call.
Kis kaam me lagta hai
The maker's current sheet gives the jobs as roof slabs, columns and beams, plaster mortar and screeds, water tanks and tile bedding mortars. Every one of those is a mix being made, which is the whole reach of an integral compound.
The buyers are the same as for steel, from a thekedar doing one dhalai up to a road tender. Which cement the mix is made with is a separate choice. Two of the cement sacks we stock are published as water repellent by their own makers, UltraTech Weather Plus and Nuvoco Concreto Uno, and every cement we carry is on the cement page.
One phrase, three different products under it
An integral compound goes in wet: measured against the cement, stirred into the mixing water, and inside the slab from the pour onwards. Pidicrete URP is a latex written for repair and bonding work. Raincoat is a coating put onto a surface that already exists. We stock the first of the three; the other two would be separate lines if we ever bring them in.
So a slip reading only waterproof liquid is short of an order. Say the job with the word: a fresh dhalai, fresh plaster, a roof that has already gone, a tank being patched. The first two are this line. Say the other two on the call before anything is booked.
The window closes when the concrete is placed
The maker's method is specific about the order of things. Most of the mixing water goes in first, 75 to 80 percent of it, then the liquid into what is left of that water, then two more minutes of mixing. It must never be tipped onto dry cement and aggregate. The same sheet asks that free water stay under 22.5 litres for a 50 kg bag, and on a plaster mix it works cement and sand at 1 to 4 by volume.
The dose, and the sum that turns a bori count into litres, is on the Dr. Fixit page. What belongs here is the timing. Once the concrete is placed, nothing poured over the top of it is this product, so the can is booked with the cement rather than sent for the week after.
IS 2645, and what a licence on it covers
The Indian Standard here is IS 2645:2003, integral waterproofing compounds for cement mortar and concrete. BIS's own product manual for it, dated January 2019, records the amendments as NIL, so the 2003 text is what a licence is still granted against. That manual writes the scope of a licence by type: powder form or liquid form, each one tested on its own to be covered.
A mark earned on the powder therefore does not carry the liquid with it, and the four tests behind it are permeability to water, setting time, compressive strength and chloride content. Binding wire carries the ISI mark because a quality control order makes it compulsory on it, with no size left out. The same order reaches sariya only from 8 mm up. Whether an order makes the ISI mark compulsory on a waterproofing compound too is not settled here, so the can and the paper that comes with it are what to check.

The one name printed on the can
Dr. Fixit is the only name we stock this line under, and which pack is standing on a given day is what a call answers.
One name, and it belongs to Pidilite Industries Limited rather than being a trade word for the material. The wider range printed under the name is on the Dr. Fixit dealer page.

Questions
Waterproof liquid ke sawal
Waterproof liquid bol dein to kaun sa wala aayega?
Say the job along with the word. We stock one line under it, the integral liquid that goes into a concrete or plaster mix, with Dr. Fixit as the name on it. A repair latex and a surface coating are separate products under the same brand, and we stock neither of them.
Powder aur liquid par ek hi ISI licence chalta hai?
No, BIS licenses them separately. IS 2645 covers both forms, but its product manual says each type is tested on its own before it comes inside the scope of a licence. Read what the licence on the can covers rather than reading the brand.
Chhat pehle se tapak rahi hai, ye liquid usme kaam karega?
Not on a slab that is already cast. An integral compound works only where it can be mixed in, so it belongs to concrete and plaster being made that day. Tell us what the roof is and we will say plainly whether the thing you need is something we bill.
Liquid ko mixer me kab dalna hai?
After most of the water has gone in. The maker's sheet puts 75 to 80 percent of the mixing water first, then the liquid into whatever is left, then two more minutes of mixing. Onto dry cement and aggregate it must never go.
Isse slab aur mazboot ho jayega kya?
That is the wrong reason to buy it. On the maker's current sheet the limit for compressive strength is that it stays at least 90 percent of a control mix, at three days and at seven. The figure that has to improve is water permeability, by at least half against that same control.

The mixer decides when this order is late
Two things settle it before anything else: which of the three systems the job needs, and the day the concrete or the plaster is going in. With those we can say what is standing, in which pack, and today's rate over the phone. Say it in the same breath as the cement, because the two are booked off one number.
