SeQR is the retail sariya of Steel Authority of India, the public sector mill, and it is the SAIL bar that arrives at this godown. Neosteel is the name JSW Steel Limited sells its reinforcement bar under. Both are primary mill steel, both are marked from 8 mm up, and bundles of each leave here every week for house work across the three districts.
Two questions bring a buyer to this pair. Either nothing on his drawing names a make and he wants the safer of the two, or a departmental list has named one and he wants to know what the other prints before he argues about it. SeQR's brochure lists six diameters, 8, 10, 12, 16, 20 and 25 mm, in Fe 500D and Fe 550D, at a 12.0 metre length. JSW's TMT page names Fe 550D and Fe 600 for Neosteel without a diameter list beside them, so a Neosteel size is settled at the counter and not off a brochure. The missing list says nothing about the bar; it is only what one maker has chosen not to put in print.
One row is identical on both sides because law rather than a maker settles it. The Steel and Steel Products Quality Control Order of 2024, S.O. 3716(E), puts bar of 8 mm and above made to IS 1786 under the standard mark, and the two smallest sizes fall outside. An unmarked 6 mm bundle from either mill is therefore ordinary, while a 12 mm bundle from either should carry the mark.

Where SAIL SeQR steps ahead
Being state owned changes what SAIL can put on a tender form. Every consignment travels with a mill test certificate, the bar meets the ISI mark under the 2024 quality control order, and because SAIL sits in the public sector, departments across this belt tend to have its name pre cleared on their vendor list, so a quotation naming SAIL rarely needs a second look. Ask for the certificate while the order is being placed, not after the vehicle has gone.
SeQR also happens to be the deepest line on this counter. This week's thekedar wants 12 mm and 16 mm on the floor in the quantity a full cage takes, and SeQR usually moves in that volume, though what actually decides our recommendation is the certificate and the approved listing, not the stock count on any one morning. Name the size and the grade when you ring.

Where JSW Neosteel makes its case
JSW is one of the country's largest steel producers, and Neosteel carries that scale in two published grades: Fe 550D for ordinary reinforcement, and Fe 600 for work where a higher yield strength lets a designer specify less steel in a member for the same load. JSW sariya has moved off this rack for years with a clean finish and no complaints coming back.
Where Fe 600 is what the drawing calls for, JSW Neosteel is the answer on our rack; SAIL SeQR does not carry that grade here. Say the grade on the call along with the diameter and the quantity, and we confirm what is standing before the order is fixed.

Which one goes on your vehicle
SAIL SeQR is our first pick between these two, and the case for it rests on paper as much as on steel: a Government mill, a certificate that rides with the consignment, the ISI mark, and a name that clears a tender's vendor check more often than most private mills manage. That counts for more with us than a stock count, though we also happen to carry SeQR the deepest here.
Neosteel goes on the vehicle in two cases. If a tender or a drawing names JSW, that settles it. If the design is written around Fe 600, Neosteel is the bar carrying that grade here, since SAIL SeQR does not print it on this rack. Outside those two, SAIL SeQR is what we recommend, and both are honest mill steel we are glad to load.

Each bundle carries its own tag, and the maker's name and the grade are rolled into the bar itself, SAIL on one and JSW on the other. Where a site takes both because the drawing changed mid job, keep the two counted separately at the yard rather than by the vehicle they arrived on, and the tag settles which is which. Say on the call if you want both loaded together and we count them apart before they leave.
SAIL SeQR aur JSW Neosteel dono par ISI mark milega?
Both carry it at 8 mm and above, because the 2024 quality control order brought IS 1786 bar of that size under the standard mark. At 5.5 mm and 6 mm the order does not apply, so a bundle in those sizes without a mark is normal. On any bundle, the tag and the letters rolled along the bar should agree with each other.
