Two trading names sit between the mill and your site
On a BST pipe there are two trading names between the mill and your site, theirs and ours, and neither of us rolled it. What ties a length back to a works is rolled into the steel itself: the maker's name or trade mark, the standard number and the class letter along a licensed round tube. That mark is your evidence of which mill made it, so read it before the load is accepted. The marking rules are set out on the MS pipe page.
Three things settle the steel: the mark along the tube, the tag on the bundle, and the bill we hand over.
BST's own range
From MS-HR pipe up to 1500 NB
BST's product list runs from MS-HR pipe, GI and MS ERW pipe, circular, square and rectangular hollow section and casing pipe through to sheet, section and TMT bar. The one size it prints is for large diameter pipe, 500 NB up to 1500 NB, which is not material a shed or a gate needs and not material we keep.
Pipe is not counted the way sariya is. It leaves by the piece and the bundle, by the kilo and the tonne, and the steel sits in the wall, so a bore on its own gives no weight. Fix the basis before the figure, and check that the bill was raised on the same one.
