It is the Bokaro Steel Plant, a SAIL plant in Bokaro, Jharkhand, so a sheet bought under the word is SAIL steel, and it is billed here as SAIL. The workshops that make trunks, boxes and almirahs in these three districts buy it in all the sizes we carry, and Bokaro is the name they ask for it by.

GP and CR flat off the sheet rack, GC corrugated off the roofing rack, all SAIL material. Say which one, then the thickness and the size.
- GP SheetGalvanised plain sheet, flat under its zinc coat, the one the trunk and box trade takes here in every size. SAIL publishes its GP coils off the Bokaro plant at 0.4 to 2 mm. The zinc carries a number of its own, the coating class, so keep that beside the thickness when you ask.
- CR SheetCold rolled sheet, smooth faced and bare. SAIL names Bokaro as the plant its cold rolled is delivered from and publishes 0.25 to 2.0 mm against it. Almirah and sheet furniture work takes it beside the GP, and the bare face wants primer and paint once the piece is made.
- GC Sheet (Tina Chadra)Corrugated galvanised chadra, the tina that goes over a roof or a shed. SAIL publishes it at 0.5 to 1.25 mm and lists roofing and industrial sheds against it, and by the time the bundle reaches this counter it is asked for as Bokaro. Give the length and the profile along with the thickness on the call.
What we keep under the word is SAIL sheet, flat and corrugated both. A colour sheet offered as Bokaro deserves one call to us before money changes hands, because the colour lines carry other names.
The plant
A SAIL plant in Jharkhand, not a second company
The Bokaro Steel Plant stands in Bokaro, Jharkhand, and has been part of Steel Authority of India Limited since 1978. SAIL's own page on the plant calls it India's first Swadeshi steel plant, set up with the former Soviet Union, and gives flat steel as its specialty: hot rolled coils, plates and sheets, cold rolled coils and sheets, and galvanised plain and corrugated sheets. A plant that rolls that much flat steel puts its name on a lot of sheet, and the GP and the CR are what reach this counter under it.
None of that puts a second maker behind the word. A Bokaro sheet is a SAIL sheet and the bill here reads SAIL. The thickness bands, coating classes and grade letters sit where the buying decisions are worked through, on the GP sheet page and the CR sheet page.

Most of the GP and CR sold at this counter goes into trunks, boxes, almirahs and sheet furniture, and the workshops behind that work take the Bokaro name in every size standing on the rack. The other name the same trade buys is Tata Kosh, Tata's own GP sheet, and the two stand side by side here, so a workshop can hold one against the other before it commits. Not every size is in every name on a given day, so call and we confirm what is standing, with the day's rate beside it.

Bokaro on its own is half an order, because the plant rolls both of the sheets we keep under it. Say GP or CR, the thickness in gauge or in millimetres, the sheet size, and how many sheets. Bokaro company hai ya jagah ka naam?
A place, and a steel plant standing in it. The Bokaro Steel Plant is in Bokaro, Jharkhand, and it has been a SAIL plant since 1978, so the sheet carrying the name is SAIL steel. There is no separate Bokaro company to weigh against SAIL.
